Join Dr. Catharine Munn, Creator & Lead, Professor Hippo-on-Campus Program, and Advisor to the Provost (Special Projects, Mental Health), as she leads this on-line workshop on student mental health.
People managers who interact with students, and supervise staff who interact with students are integral to building mental health support for students. While you are not be expected to be mental health experts or counselors, faculty and staff are often ideally situated to recognize and respond to stressed and distressed students, to start important conversations, and to limit unnecessary stress and distress. To do this you must feel prepared and comfortable to address student mental health needs in ways that are consistent with and appropriate to your roles and training.
This program will build off of the Professor Hippo online program (8 modules). You are required to complete the online module training (3 hours) prior to attending this workshop. If you haven’t already completed the A2L modular training program you can register for it through MOSAIC (instructions in the Overview section on our website). This workshop builds on and applies that content, which will not be reviewed in depth in the workshop, to allow for more interaction and case discussion.
Zoom link will be shared with participants via email prior to the workshop.
