Please join Nature at McMaster for a guided hike through the McMaster Forest.
Located on Lower Lions Club Rd, about 20 min bus ride from McMaster University, is a 115-acre plot of land known as McMaster Forest Nature Preserve. This area, purchased by the university in the late 1960’s, is being used as a conservation and research forest. Over the past few years many of the invasive species in the area, such as the Buckthorn, have been removed and replaced by natural prairie grasses which are now starting to come out and spread in the area.
Please dress appropriately for hiking in the winter. All are welcome and we looking forward to seeing everyone! NOTE – the trails at McMaster Forest are not universally accessible currently.
